How to play Gold Rush

Gold Rush turns the classic brick-breaking formula into a gold mine. Five rows of ore sit at the top of the shaft, and your paddle keeps a single ball in play.

Controls and rules

Move the paddle with the mouse, by dragging a finger, or with the Left and Right arrow keys. Where the ball touches the paddle decides its angle: the edges send it off sharply, the centre sends it straight up. If the ball falls past the paddle you lose one of your 4 lives.

Scoring

• Every hit on a block adds 20 points.
• Blocks in the upper rows need up to four hits to break.
• Each new vein (wave) starts with a faster ball.

Tips

Aim for the sides of the wall to open a gap; once the ball gets above the blocks it can clear several strong ones without your help.
